Retreats 2024

MindWise has developed a number of retreat themes for specific retreat settings. These can be adapted for other settings while Gerry will be happy to discuss creating a retreat to suit your location and needs and philosophy. Retreats can vary in length – weekends, long weekends and multiple-days. MindWise also works in combination with some of the best yoga teachers in Mozambique and Europe to create unique retreats for well-being featuring both mindfulness and yoga practices.

Resting in the Full Presence of Nature
South Africa February 29- March 3 2024

This retreat will be held in the Hluhluwe Bush Camp, a luxury glamping site in the beautiful surroundings of False Bay Park, in KwaZulu-Natal. We came across Trienke’s magical off-the-grid nature reserve when we drove to Durban and stopped for a few nights.

The retreat, which Gerry designed especially for this location, will enable you to discover the fulfilling enjoyment, calm, vitality and interconnection that is to be found in nature and will take place from February 29 – March 3, 2024.

In. our modern lives, we often find ourselves cut off from nature. Over the four-day retreat, mindfulness training will provide the tools to steady the mind so we can be open to receive the jewels of nature. Through meditation we will learn how to skilfully work with thoughts and emotional patterns that interfere with simply being able to rest wherever we are, with a full, natural presence.

As our awareness of the natural world grows through practicing mindfulness, we will begin to notice how the ever-changing face of nature reflects the impermanence of our own lives.

We also notice that the separation we have created between ourselves and nature starts to fade and realize that our well-being is intimately interlinked with the well-being of the rest of the natural world. We begin to understand that we are an integral part of something much larger than ourselves: the web of life.
